I wouldn't call anyone a cheater, but I kindof see your point.
It's a thin line...

We (from Ariadne's Thread) did not ask any friends or relatives to vote for us. We considered it for a while, but when we saw there were already games out there with 100+ votes, we didn't even bother anymore.
Maybe that's naive and stupid, cause we ended up with only 16 votes, but at least we know that every vote was legit, by people who really appreciated what we tried to achieve.
It also seems to me that other concepts which I personally preferred in terms of innovation, did kindof the same thing, and just relied on honesty...

I'm just not sure what the people of musegames expect as good qualities for the game they would choose...

Hard to say what they are going to use for their judging criteria. Innovation may have nothing to do with it at all. They may want a game that, even in its simplicity, is addictive and fun. Sometimes innovation isn't all it is cracked up to be.

They may go for something easy to get into, or something that takes forever to get into due to its depth. They may go for the one with the most variety and content, or the one that distills itself down to its purest form. They may want something that has the most potential to take advantage of their micro transaction system. Or... they may just go for the one with the most innovation. Considering they never really said "this is what we are looking for", we will have to just wait and see. Without a definite set of guidelines, most of us went in entirely different directions... pretty much making a game to fit each of those descriptions above.

The only thing I think we all can agree on, even those of us currently holding a top 5 position, is that they hopefully will not use number of votes as the deciding factor in their final choice. I don't really think anyone exactly cheated (and there are quite a few of the games I personally think deserve to be at the top who actually do have a ton of votes), but if I had to put each of the games in order of best to least best... it probably would not be in the same order as most votes to least votes.

Either way, it will all be decided shortly.

I don't think that the people like this game. I think you have many friends and you are cheating a little
